With fast transport links into London, Enfield offers a more relaxed alternative to the hustle and bustle of the capital. The area now boasts a vibrant centre due to the major redevelopment project in 2007.

We’re a Labour Party controlled local authority, with 62 councillors, representing our 21 wards. By having a strong focus on innovation, we’re committed to leading the way in using technology that meets the changing needs of our residents, and to make our services even more accessible.

With innovative approaches to attracting and retaining talent, we are proud to have piloted a Careers Returner programme. We have partnered with Women Returners to give people who have taken time out to return back into the workplace and rebuild their professional careers. The programme offers support for anyone who has taken a break of two years or more, as well as six months’ paid work experience covering vacant posts. We also provide mentoring by a trained senior officer and a team buddy to help you navigate your way around both your new team and the Council. Once finished, you will then have the opportunity to apply for a permanent or fixed term post within the organisation. We are hoping to build on the success of this pilot and offer our next programme soon.
